All Work, No Play

It has been a busy week. Working long hours. Only 45 hours of actual work but when you add the 40 minute drive to and 40 minute from it adds up. Got a list of little projects to do at home this weekend. We turned our air-conditioner off and our heater on in the same week. We turned out heater on last night for the first time. I think their is actually a frost outside this morning. The cat was glad to get in to his little bed in the washroom.

We had a good night at the Coffee House last night. No band, so it meant listening to kids practice on the drums all night long. (sometimes this is hard after a busy day at work :-) The kids seemed to have fun and Mike and I both were busy in the kitchen all night long. We recruited some of the kids to help us out.

Got the door knocker from Mum and Dad, thank you very much. Remind me where it came from, sorry I forgot. I looked up about the Festival of Britain 1951 though. Mike says he will put it on our front door. Also thanks for the letter from Carrie. I had emailed it to you back in Nov. '99. I'm sure I have the original copy around here but I haven't come across it yet so it was very welcome as I had forgotten all about it. Thanks for keeping it and thanks for sharing it with me again. It means a lot. Also, thanks for the left over money from the holiday. I think I will buy some more angels with it for my Christmas Angel Tree. I've always wanted to have an angel tree with the nativity scene underneath it and with the angels I got while home last year I think I may have enough to start one this year. I only go for the real looking angels not cherubs etc. and they are kind of hard to find, so it is fun collecting. I got a couple at Darby's in Natchez when we were home for Nan and Lennie's Anniversary. Missed calling today but will look forward to calling and hearing about the Rugby Sunday

The door knocker came from Agnes Lightbody's home. It was among her belongings when I cleared out her home. I see that it is older than you! Whether it is of any antique value I do not know. I suppose lots of them would be sold at the time.
Re Carrie's letter I remember being proud that she could think of so many good things to say about her Mum. I also wondered how many Mums could say that they ever had a letter anything like that.
