Jake has discovered his feet and now tries to pull his toes off. Who needs toys when you have feet.
We turned the air conditioner on today. The weather is still cool in the mornings but nice and warm in the evening. Got a phone call from Dad tonight while sitting out on the deck with Jake and Isla, glad to hear he is feeling better. He pulled a muscle in his back packing computers about. We are looking forward to Robert and Families visit on the 8th. We have been trying to get the house ready but it won't be as ready as we had wished but still livable and comfortable. Mike and I were talking last night about how much work we did on the Coffee House. We would both put a full day of work in at Tupelo, getting up at 5am and work till 9pm after work at the Coffee House building the inside. Looking back we just don't know how we did it. I'm glad we had it, keeping busy was the best thing to do, but I just don't know how we kept it up now that we are trying to fix the house up.
Mike also brought up something else I hadn't thought about the other night and since his blog is blogless I thought I would blog about it. It was the night he played Enya at the Coffee House. I didn't really understand what he was doing, as it is one of those CD's that almost brings Carrie back to life. One can close their eyes and see her singing the songs, knowing every word and dancing around. Anyway, he brought up the time she worked at the Skating Rink and would come home and talk about the poor kids. Kids that don't have money to eat the over priced food or spend all their money winning little plastic toys. She really felt sorry for a lot of the kids there. We thought about how she would love the Coffee House, cheap food, sometimes free and free games. It was a nice thought. I had forgotten her concern for the kids.
One of the Dads the brings his kids to the Coffee House is busy getting some local restaurants to donate to the Coffee House. He thinks the Coffee House is great and works at one of the restaurants. They may donated hamburgers one night a month and another restaurant donate pizza etc. He is hoping to get a donation for every night. It is nice of him to do this. He has connections and is enthusiastic. It will save us cooking the hamburgers at home.
