For those of you perhaps worried about the amount of photos I put on my blog of Jake etc. My blog settings are private. The only way you had access to my blog is because I emailed you the link to it or gave you the address, it is not open for just anyone to find it. Also the video of Jake on YouTube is the same way. It is set at private and basically the only way to see it is on my blog. I try to take precautions where I can in this day and age.
I came across this old photo the other day and just loved it. I guess this time of year when you think of friends and family a lot and eating together, this photo just brought back pleasant memories. I’m sure my Mum misses her parents too but I just wanted to say that I miss Gran and Grandpa also. This photo seems like it was taken yesterday but as you can see by my age it was a year or two ago. I can still taste Gran’s soup that was set before us. I liked her soup, which looking back I think was because it had fresh parsley out the garden in it at times. I can still smell the turpentine/paint cleaner in the dining room where Gran used to paint her China or at least store her Art Supplies. By the way, Mum has her apron on, that is not her dress. (right Mum?) I always regretted that Gran died so young and I wasn’t able to get a China Painting lesson from her, or Art lesson in general. I liked the books she had of flowers and fairies that she took a lot of her designs from. I think that is what inspired me to have a fairy garden in Dunoon around the same age. Anyway, the photo represents good times and they are not forgotten.
I also miss Carrie and her Art. She had so many outstanding paintings to come and I feel cheated out of seeing her work progress. It does help to keep busy and Jake is such a joy as you can tell by the photos and video. Mike and I had fun Sunday shopping for 60 kids, for our Coffee House Christmas Party. This year I was able to put up a Christmas Tree at the Coffee House. Stephanie, I put your ornament on it you gave the Coffee House along with others. It’s not easy when shows come on TV that I know Carrie would love this time of year or seeing someone in the Church Choir that looks just like her from a distance and then remembering her singing by me in church. She continues to be missed and loved more than ever.
Mike flies to Pennsylvania today on a bleak note. The FMC there is closing it’s doors and a lot of the machinery is coming to Tupelo and he has to go and scope it out. Here is hoping the weather stays good that he will be home Friday night. It is a depressing job to have to do right before Christmas when some have been told they are losing their jobs there in Pennsylvania. Keep him in your prayers. Mike stays really busy at work as they seem to demand more than a person can do, of him. So, we adjust to not getting things done around the house like we would like. He had days of vacation to use up but stayed too busy at work to take a day off. So, my instructions for when he is gone is to empty the kitchen and pack up things we won’t need for a month or two as he takes out more cabinets and redoes the floor. I’ll keep you posted with photos.
