Jake Today

I haven't blogged in a while, most of you know why if you have kept up with Isla's blog. It's just been easier to talk to folks on the phone than put down my feelings on blog. We have all done a lot of crying here lately.
Jake continues to be a delight as you can see here in the photos. He now lifts his arms up in the air when he wants you to pick him up (makes you feel great when he does this). He dances all the time whenever music is played. Monday it was at the Doctor's office when someones phone went off he would do a little dance. He stops playing with toys and dances to the music on commercials if the tv is on. He shakes his head no when he doesn't want something. He is almost running now, not just walking. Right now as I write this he is taking a nap and I'm wondering why at night he squirms around so much but at nap time during the day he doesn't move an inch.

This weekend would have been Carrie's 24th birthday. To be honest I've been wrestling with it all month long, to the point of not wanting to celebrate my birthday or anniversary at all. We did though and I'm now 42 and 26 years married. We will celebrate Carrie's life with a birthday party at the Coffee House where we have lots of party food to give out free to the kids. We have done that since we opened the Coffee House. The kids certainly enjoy it. Mum said she takes Dad out for a meal on my Birthday in Scotland so it's not much different celebrating a GREAT day without the person there. (Hehehhe though I think it snowed this year and they didn't get out on my birthday) The kids at the Coffee House seem to understand.
