As many of you will know Mum & Dad will celebrate their official 50th Wedding Anniversary Monday June 16th! I did this portrait of them to celebrate the occasion. We will celebrate the Anniversary again as a family in August. Also, many of you know the sad news about Dad having cancer. Keep him in your prayers. It has been a tough time for both Mum and Dad with this news and all Dad is having to go through.
My Niece Ruth in Canada turned 17 this week. That is hard to believe but we look forward to seeing her in Scotland this year with the rest of the family.
This year it was a little strange for us to remember the day Carrie died on the actual Friday 13th again. It's also hard to believe it has been 5 years but then again, so much has happened since then it seems like 100 years since we last saw her. She is in our thoughts all the time.
Then Father's Day is Sunday! I have one of the best Dads there is and he knows that I love him and he really doesn't like all that sentimental stuff (or at least he pretends he doesn't) so I won't go into all the fond memories I have as a child like mustache kisses, walnut whips and encouraging words about my cooking. Dad all I want to say is THANKS! As Jim Dobson says the most important thing you can do for your kids is to love their Mother. There is no mistaking the love you still have for each other. Happy 50th Anniversary Monday!

Thank you for expressing these kind thoughts, Alison.
I knew yesterday was not a good day for you but could not express any of my thoughts on the phone today.
The good news at the moment is that Dad is eating better now so there is a chance he will be stronger in two weeks to be able to tolerate chemotherapy. See you soon. Thank you. Mum xxx
Lovely picture and lovely thoughts of your Dad. Was thinking about you on Friday and over the weekend.x
It is a remarkable likeness! Congratulations to Gran and Granpa on their 50TH Wedding Anniversary today!
Hello Alison
So sorry to hear about your Dad's ill health. Hope he is feeling well.
It is my birthday today. It was my Dad's anniversary on 14th June - he passed away from cancer in 1981. Seems like 100 years ago too.... but never far from thought.
I know you will be a great inspiration to your parents and they will be looking forward to your family visit soon. It is less than 3 weeks until Marly and Charlie arrive.
Keep well
Sandra
