From Yesterday

Above, Toni, Uncle Jim and Cousin Lindsey. (Toni is Lindsey's husband)
Jake and Mari doing a wee jig.

We were recreating an old photograph with Brother Alastair holding daughter Ruth, Cousin Barry holding Rebecca and Brother Robert holding Marianne as babies.

Mari tired from her Jig above, sleeping while James was playing at the swing park.
Marianne and Ruth my nieces below.

Jennifer, Ruth, Marianne, Shona, Isla, Emma, Iain, Alasdair, Jake and Mari,
My family and kids and grand kids

Barry, Joyce and Rebecca
I grew up thinking these girls were cousins, Karen and Doreen are daughter's of Mum's good friend and Bridesmaid Grace. (Aunt Grace)
A couple of times I must admit I have lied awake at night worried about being so far away if my parents should suddenly take ill and I wouldn't be able to be there with them. God was very gracious to us. A year ago we planned the date of August 2nd for a celebration of Mum and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary which was June 16th. It would be a reunion of the family and cousins would meet for the first time. Mum and Dad enjoyed their real Anniversary June 16th and Dad died yesterday at 2pm August 2nd. I can't tell you how thankful I am to have been with Dad before he died instead of arriving after for his funeral. It was also very comforting to have the family around right after Dad died at what was our Family Reunion and the children celebrating the Anniversary of thier parents. Who would ever have thought that Dad would get cancer or that things would go down hill so fast. The day I arrived he was admitted to Inverclyde Hospital then moved to the Hospice in Dunoon. He died yesterday with the family around him. I'm also thankful to Mike who was able to change my flight and give me another week to attend Dad's funeral and be with Mum. Things are still a big numb and I couldn't sleep hardly so I thought I'd update my blog as I normally do.

So sorry to hear that your Dad has passed away but I am so thankful that you and your family were here.
It's a blessing that your mum has you here with her to help her through everything.
God Bless, thinking of you....
