We are also in the process of finally getting some paint on the living room walls. I am so tired of sheet rock grey and mud white splotches. Ha! I've had my color picked out for 4 years at least. Mike agreed to go back to mudding the walls where I was having problems and I will get some color painted on soon. Mike has been working some long hours, the past two Saturdays also and then the Coffee House, so it is very good of him. When I get depressed about living in a renovation project I remind myself that I am the one that quit my job in the middle of it and about how much fun I'm having helping Isla with Jake. It makes it worthwhile but it's still frustrating at times. I know Mike is tired of the renovation part as he is the one that has to do most of it.
This is Jake's "I just woke up face". Jake is saying so much, it's hard to keep up. Now he is pointing to the letter E and saying E! He noticed it on my DVD player and said it. We read an ABC book all the time, or rather sing it and I know Isla does too but it seems awfully young to know his letters. He surprises us all the time. He notices balls everywhere, even the water melon we ate on the 4th July was a ball, (it was a round seedless one this year). He likes to take a nap or go to sleep with a little car instead of a teddy bear!
I haven't really gotten back into the swing of things since my trip home as far as the drawing goes. Audrey I haven't forgotten you though and Poppy is the first on my list and I actually have her in the works. Didn't want you to think I had forgotten. I still love to draw.
Mike and I decided to have a lock-in at the Coffee House this 28th. The kids have been after us for ever to do it and we kept thinking perhaps we could get a Church involved to help us etc. but it doesn't ever seem to work out so Mike and I are just going to bite the bullet and do it. We have restricted it to just boys after 11pm. If you have any ideas for games/pranks fun ideas etc. please pass them on. Most of them are happy playing video games all night anyway but we have a few things planned like Uga Booga and the Spoon Smack, Balloon Stomp, Musical Chairs to Metal Music, Risk Tournament, Chess, Pass the parcel, Movies and Marshmallow Eating contest etc. Pancakes for breakfast. 6pm - 6am. Keep us in your prayers!
