I have a lot to learn about colored pencil. I think I may have to invest in some better paper. Anyway, before I get discouraged I'm going to do another graphite drawing next then I'll try it again. I guess I shouldn't get too discouraged as it's only my second in color. It's just a whole new learning curve and my colored pencils won't do what I'm used to my graphite doing.

A quick drawing

Beautiful! I love this picture! You really have a natural talent, Alison. Don't be so hard on yourself about colored pencil. As long as you have the values correct, which you do, your colored pencil paintings will be beautiful. Keep up the beautiful work. I'll bet your daughter fell in love with this picture of Jake. She's due in 2 days! I'm surprised she hasn't had that baby yet. You must be beside yourself with excitement.

Great picture...seems to me to capture one of Jake's regular looks. Colour is excellent. Dad.
I've printed it out on photo paper and it is going up on the wall!!
