Came home and cut grass with the weedeater.
Things are a bit frustrating at work right now. Hal is so far behind and just can't seem to do anything to catch up. His son came home for a visit with his new wife. He is headed to Kuwait in September for a year. Hal has had a lot of installations to do and didn't do them knowing his son was coming home. I don't get it. If it was anyone else, they would come in and work on the weekend or something. So now people are calling me wondering why their sign isn't up. Tomorrow he has to take his son to the airport. He was at a funeral today. I do all I can do. I'm looking forward to two whole weeks off in October with Mum and Dad.
Been thinking about Carrie a lot. I could see how some people might go crazy at something like this. It is a constant fight not to regret things that were done or not done, I have to tell myself (1) that Carrie doesn't care now where she is and that she understands now. (2) who is behind such thoughts and (3) and just try to remember the good times we had. It is so hard for some reason when I see small children, little girls. At the Coffee House Saturday one of the girls Carrie and Mike and I taught children's Church came up to me wanting me to rebraid her hair as it had come apart. I'm glad they feel that they can do that. It was nice to braid her hair. Sometimes I feel shut up in a little box, except for Mike, Isla and Mum, no one talks about Carrie any more. Dealing with her death was easier when people still talked about her but now it is like she is really dead (as in gone from people's thoughts). I miss her.
Isla and James may be coming home this weekend. A three day weekend is something to look forward to. I always think I will get so much done but never do. It's a nice thought anyway. Three whole days. After six bands playing on Friday night at the Coffee House and us serving Free Hambugers out, we may need a three day weekend just to recover.
Watching the Republican Convention and Arnold Swartzneger's (sp?) speech while writing this. I think I will go and get a glass of wine. Go George Bush!!!!
