Things are busy as usual. With only two weeks till Isla's Baby Shower I am trying to get organized. (Panic Panic) Wish you were here Mum! It is in doing so that I realize how unorganized I am. I can't find platters I used to have. I went by some stores on the way home to try and get some items for the shower but didn't get a lot of what I needed. James' Mum is in charge of decorations and I'm in charge of food and cleaning the Coffee House. On the way home I remembered the party we had in Natchez where Santa came and we had all the holidays on one day for Gran and Grandpaw to experience it with the girls as they missed out on so much being so far away. I don't know how I organized all that. Ha!
I also pieced together most of the baby quilt tonight for Isla. When using my pin cushion which hasn't been used in years, I noticed how Carrie had arranged all the colored pins so neatly in the pin cushion. One color was a flag. She was sewing a denim skirt the last time my pin cushion was used. I also thought about how much help Carrie would have been in organizing this shower. She would have been right in the middle of it and would have loved the nappy sandwiches, twinkie booties, etc.
Isla too is in a panic, "everyone else in her baby class have packed their bag for the hospital" she told me and she has been so busy with moving and the new job that they haven't thought about that yet. She hasn't bought much in the way of baby items yet because it is tradition that you wait until after the baby shower to see what is left that you need. So the baby's room is quite empty at this stage.
Life is just busy right now.

You were not working when you organised our party. If you were it was part time. You were far from becoming a granny also! I'm going to use that event for the opening of our guild. Our theme for the day is holiday memories from 1925 up to today to suit all ages !!! I have to give a three minute talk. It seems strange that Russell is looking forward to being a granpa while we are going to be greats.
