What a weekend. We had a good turn out at the Coffee House. Lee did a good job of being DJ. The lady that owns the skating rink came by with her CD's to let us borrow them for our dance. That was great of her. I know her through the sign shop. Thanks for the phone call Mum and Dad at the Coffee House. Ya'll are so thoughtful. We got through at the Coffee House around 12:30 and came home and shot fireworks, much to the amazement of our neighbor's children that were out in the yard watching also.
Saturday we woke up leisurely and no sooner than we had breakfast than we were getting the lunch ready. Mike cooked an outstanding pork roast with stuffing in it. Isla had some papers to grade and we watched part of 24 hours of Monk on TV while she did that and I played on the computer (made a budget spreadsheet for next year) and James and Mike were making fireworks I think. Later we went to the Coffee House while it was empty and Mike and James had races with their remote control trucks they got for Christmas. I think they ran them until the batteries ran down. When we got home, Isla and I went for a walk around the lake to give her a break from grading papers. When we got back to our amazement the guys were gone. It was just getting dark. Their trucks were outside, car was there, no note to say where they were. After a lot of noise in the direction of the Nichols, I called Patricia and she said someone was outside in a canoe having a firework war with the Nichols Menfolk, so we figured that it was them. Sure enough the canoe was gone, the one thing we had not thought about. They had a ton of fun and returned safely intime to get cleaned up and watch a rented movie on TV.
Today we got up and went to Lawndale Presbyterian Church in Tupelo with Isla and James. We then went out to eat at a Buffet place which was good. Walked it off at lowes where Mike got some more wood for his projects and James spent his Christmas Gift Card. We hugged goodbye from there and went our separate ways. On the way home we stopped at the Nichols to see if they needed any help in cleaning up their yard and recounted the fun of the night before as well as seeing the new work that has been done to the Nichols Homes. Had a cup of coffee with Rickey and you know how that goes, you can never get away. Had fun talking and came home and here we are.
I'm looking forward to one more day off. I have quite a lot to do actually in Fulton, Banking, Postoffice, return the CD's etc. It has been a good start to the New Year. It was fun talking to Scotland on the phone again Saturday. Here are some photos we took today before we left for Church.
